The Cybertruck, the object of all desire
Unveiled with great fanfare at the end of 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck caused a lot of discussion even before its marketing. This pick-up, with its avant-garde design, is generating unprecedented enthusiasm, to the point of greatly exceeding the production capacities initially planned by Tesla.
The result: an endless waiting list and delivery times that stretch over months or even years. An ideal breeding ground for speculators who see an opportunity to make a substantial profit by reselling their precious sesame.

But that was without counting on the responsiveness of Elon Musk and his teams. To curb this practice, Tesla now requires each Cybertruck buyer to sign a 'Motor Vehicle Order Agreement'. This clause stipulates a formal ban on reselling the vehicle within one year following its acquisition.

An alternative for bona fide buyers
Aware that some owners may have legitimate reasons to part with their Cybertruck, Tesla offers a way out. The manufacturer agrees to repurchase the vehicle, with a discount of 25 cents per kilometer traveled.
A solution that aims to be fair to honest buyers while discouraging speculators. Because even by applying an exorbitant price, they will struggle to find a buyer when faced with customers who are ready to wait to obtain their Cybertruck at the right price.

With this powerful measure, Tesla is shaking up the codes and sending a strong message to the entire automotive industry. The Californian brand intends to preserve the accessibility of its models and refuse speculative bidding wars.
