Google is expected to unveil its Pixel Watch 3 this fall, and rumors are rife about what the Mountain View company has in store for its next connected watch. If until now, we were mainly expecting a slightly thicker watch, the renderings stolen by the famous leaker OnLeaks tell us more about its appearance. Find out exclusively what the Pixel Watch 3 will look like!
A design in keeping with the Pixel Watch 2
According to images leaked by Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka @OnLeaks on
In short, at first glance, it's difficult to distinguish the Pixel Watch 3 from its big sister. Google seems to have found the winning recipe with the Pixel Watch 2 and does not want to shake up a proven formula.
Some subtle differences to expect
Looking closer, the 3D renderings still reveal some small differences compared to the previous iteration:
This additional thickness could be explained by the integration of a more generous battery, but also by the progress of Wear OS 5 in terms of autonomy. Enough to erase one of the rare defects of the Pixel Watch 2?
Two sizes on the program, like at Apple and Samsung?
Another persistent rumor concerning the Pixel Watch 3: the arrival of a larger version alongside the โclassicโ 41 mm model. A Pixel Watch 3 Pro of sorts, which would adopt the following measurements according to OnLeaks:
This more imposing version would allow Google to attract a new clientele, particularly men, looking for a watch that is both elegant and assertive. It remains to be seen whether this Pixel Watch 3 Pro will stand out through other characteristics (autonomy, premium materials, etc.) or simply by its screen size.
What about the price and release date?
If leaks multiply regarding the design of the Pixel Watch 3, we know less about its price positioning. As a reminder, the Pixel Watch 2 was priced from โฌ349 for the Bluetooth version, and โฌ399 for the 4G version.
We can expect similar prices for the โclassicโ Pixel Watch 3, but what about the hypothetical Pro version? Difficult to say in the absence of reliable information on this subject.
Same artistic vagueness regarding the official presentation date of the Pixel Watch 3. Traditionally, Google unveils its new hardware products in the fall, at the same time as its Pixel smartphones. A launch in October, as for the Pixel Watch 2 last year, therefore seems the most likely hypothesis.
While we wait to learn more, these stolen renders give us a tantalizing first glimpse of the Pixel Watch 3. Certainly, Google does not seem to be revolutionizing the recipe, but rather refining an already convincing formula. Enough to allow the firm to truly establish itself in the very competitive connected watch market? Answer in a few months!
