The Omega x Swatch collaboration strikes again with three new versions of the now famous MoonSwatch. Called โMission on Earthโ, these bioceramic watches pay homage to spectacular natural phenomena on Earth: volcanic eruptions, the Northern Lights and desert expanses.
A 42mm bioceramic case, waterproof up to 30 meters
The three new additions to the MoonSwatch collection feature a bioceramic case measuring 42 mm in diameter and 13.25 mm thick, combined with a matching Velcro strap. Waterproof up to 30 meters, they are equipped with a curved glass made of bio-sourced material with anti-scratch treatment and a tachymeter scale.
The luminescent dials, adorned with the famous โtwo dots at 12 o'clockโ, are distinguished by subtle variations from one version to another, while paying homage to the legendary Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch. The counters feature a new design with more numbers for optimal readability.
Mission on Earth โ Lava: a volcanic homage to the Omega Speedmaster โUltramanโ
The MoonSwatch Mission on Earth โ Lava is inspired by volcanic eruptions, featuring intense hues of red and orange on its case and dial. With its bright orange chronograph hands, it also pays homage to the historic Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch โUltramanโ from 1968.
Mission on Earth โ Polar Lights: a sparkling ode to the Northern Lights
A tribute to the spectacular Northern Lights, visible from space, the MoonSwatch Mission on Earth โ Polar Lights features a midnight blue dial dotted with silver โglitterโ, reminiscent of the aventurine glass dials of certain Omega watches. The unique arrangement of the โstarsโ on each dial makes each example different.
The numerals and indexes of the three counters feature a radial groove, a nod to the Speedmaster's Alaska II and III projects.
Mission on Earth โ Desert: an invitation to travel to the dunes
With its sand-colored case and hands, its dial and bracelet in โgreigeโ (taupe) tones, the MoonSwatch Mission on Earth โ Desert evokes the vast expanses of desert which cover more than a fifth of the earth's surface, present on all the continents.
The counters also feature a radial format, another reference to the Speedmaster Alaska II and III projects. Like the other dials in the collection, they bear the Omega X Swatch co-branding, as well as the Speedmaster and MoonSwatch logos.
Launch scheduled for June 15, 2024, priced at $270 per unit
The three new โMission on Earthโ MoonSwatches will be available from June 15, 2024, for $270 each. There is no doubt that these limited editions, celebrating the beauty and diversity of our planet, will be a great success with collectors and enthusiasts of original watches.
