BMW unveils the restyled version of its sports compact, the M2. On the program: a muscular design, increased power and an ultra-connected dashboard. Find out everything you need to know about this new racing beast!
A design that impresses
The 2025 BMW M2 retains its aggressive look that made it successful. Its sculpted lines and rounded rear fenders leave no doubt about its sporty character. Despite its compact dimensions, the M2 imposes itself on the road.
For this new version, BMW offers new body colors that highlight its shapes:
A high-tech cockpit
It's inside that the changes are most notable. The dashboard has been completely redesigned to leave more space for screens, to the detriment of physical controls.
There is a double curved screen which extends from the driving position to the center of the console. It includes:
Other new features: a leather-wrapped sports steering wheel with a revised design and the possibility of opting for M Carbon bucket seats as a standalone option. The M2 retains its 4-seater configuration, even if legroom remains a little tight in the rear.
Always more power
Under the hood, we find the twin-turbo in-line 6-cylinder engine that makes the M2 famous. This now develops 473 hp (20 hp more than before) and 550 Nm of torque.
The sporty compact is offered as standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Purists will be pleased to learn that the 6-speed manual transmission is still available as an option. Surprisingly, the automatic version benefits from 50 Nm of additional torque.
According to BMW, the automatic M2 goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds, compared to 4.2 seconds for the manual version. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, but the M Driver's pack allows it to be increased to 285 km/h.
Prices and availability
Production of the 2025 BMW M2 is scheduled to begin in late summer. Its base price is set at โฌ84,900, a slight increase compared to the โฌ82,650 requested for the 2024 vintage.
If you are looking for a compact but devilishly efficient sports car, this new M2 is made for you. With its demonic look, its supercharged 6-cylinder engine and its futuristic cockpit, the little BMW has all the makings of a big one!
