Stellantis wants to revolutionize the automotive industry with these three technologies arriving in 2024

With revenues from the sale of digital services and products integrated into its vehicles doubling, Stellantis is clearly showing that this is the way to go and will do so with the arrival of new products in 2024.

Continued growth through innovation

Over the past three years, Stellantis, one of the giants of the automotive industry, to which brands such as Peugeot, Fiat and Citroรซn belong, has seen its revenues continue to grow, thanks to a series of innovations and technological improvements that have the ultimate goal of making life easier for its drivers and, of course, always being at the cutting edge of technology โ€“ remember that they are currently collaborating with Qualcomm Technologies.

As the Stellantis International Communications Department already told us in an interview for Auto Bild, the main objective is โ€œto offer the best useful technology available on the market at the service of our customers. In fact, it is an opportunity to strengthen our creativity and, in addition, technology is at the service of this creativity to pursue the pleasure of driving through technological design.โ€

Integration of next generation technology platforms

This giant is set to integrate next-generation technology platforms like STLA Brain, STLA SmartCockpit and STLA AutoDrive by the end of 2024. With the aim of transforming the way users interact with their vehicles, they seek to make the driving safer, simpler and more up-to-date than ever.

During a Stellantis media presentation, Heiko Schilling, Head of Software Engineering and AI, gave more details on what is just the beginning, saying they have created their own team of 4,000 developers, including 400 artificial intelligence engineers.

Focus on new technologies from Stellantis

Here is what these technologies consist of:

  • STLA Brain: centralizes vehicle control. It allows updates over the air (OTA), making it easier to add new features. It also simplifies the car's design by halving the electronic control units (ECUs), allowing new features to be developed in less than six months.
  • STLA SmartCockpit: uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to integrate users' digital lives into their cars. Simpler, easier-to-use menus and improved navigation experiences will be included.
  • STLA AutoDrive: builds on the previous two to offer an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS): hands-free and eyes-free mobility, as well as driving with limited assistance (Level 2+).
  • Regarding cybersecurity given the large technological participation, Yves Bonnefont, software director of Stellantis, tells the media that they have tools to constantly monitor what is happening between cars and the rest of the world “to ensure we that nothing suspicious or malicious is happening.โ€

New products and applications to come

Added to all this is a series of new products and applications that will gradually land throughout the Stellantis fleet:

  • AppMarket: a platform available in North America that offers embedded services and experiences. By the end of 2024, it should be available in 99% of Stellantis vehicles in North America and Europe.
  • e-ROUTES: an application designed to plan EV routes using real-time vehicle data. This app, available in Europe with plans for global expansion, projects the route onto the car's central screen via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and optimizes charging stops according to the driver's preferences.
  • Free2move Connect Fleet: Helps fleet managers manage their vehicles with real-time visibility into status and geographic location.
  • MyTasks: a tool that allows drivers to track their calendar/schedule on screen, giving real-time updates.
  • With the goal of generating additional annual revenues of โ‚ฌ20 billion by 2030, Stellantis continues to take small but big steps, expanding into European markets and bringing major technological innovations to its vehicles.

Stellantis clearly shows its ambition to revolutionize the automotive industry by focusing on technological innovation. With the upcoming integration of cutting-edge platforms and the development of new applications, the group seeks to offer a safer, more connected and more personalized driving experience to its customers. A strategy which is bearing fruit in view of the continued growth in Stellantis' revenues, and which promises great progress for the years to come.
