Portugal is not only famous for its sun, its port and Cristiano Ronaldo. The country is preparing to make automobile history with the Furia, the first Portuguese supercar developed by the manufacturer Adamastor. Equipped with a bold design and a powerful Ford engine, this newcomer intends to carve out a place among the biggest names in the sector.
A long-term project that is finally coming to fruition
The genesis of Furia dates back to 2010, when Adamastor was born. However, it was not until 2018 that the company decided to focus on the production of road vehicles, moving away from designing racing cars. After five years of development and the abandonment of a first sports car project, the brand is finally ready to unveil its first production model.
A futuristic design that leaves no one indifferent
The Furia has an aesthetic that is original to say the least, halfway between a spaceship and a Le Mans boat. Its carbon fiber bodywork is distinguished by several striking elements:
The whole demonstrates a desire to cut through the air effectively. Moreover, its bold shape, which is reminiscent of that of the Aston Martin Valkyrie or the Pagani Huayra, as well as its Venturi effect floor, allow the Furia to generate more than 1,000 kg of downforce. aerodynamic at 250 km/h.
An American heart for top-notch performance
Under its hood, the Furia houses a 3.5-liter V6 from Ford Performance. Although this unit may seem modest compared to that of certain competitors, it still develops 650 hp and 570 Nm of torque. Impressive figures, especially when we know that the supercar only weighs 1,110 kg thanks to its carbon fiber chassis.
With this cavalry and its refined aerodynamics, the Adamastor Furia goes from 0 to 100 km/h in around 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 300 km/h. Performances certainly fall short of current benchmarks, but which remain more than honorable.
An exclusivity that costs money
Adamastor plans to produce only 60 examples of its Furia, each priced at around 1.6 million euros. A high price which can be explained by the exclusivity of the model and the ambitions of the brand, which targets prestigious manufacturers like Koenigsegg or Rimac.
It remains to be seen whether buyers will be there for this supercar that came from nowhere. One thing is certain: with the Furia, Portugal proves that it too has a say in the very select world of exceptional cars. A remarkable first step which could well lead to others.
