Ride or Die” for a third lap

Will Smith, as Detective Mike Lowery, will own and drive a Porsche 911 in “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.” This fourth film in the “Bad Boys” franchise marks the third time Smith's character has owned a 911. “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” was released in theaters on June 7.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence still on top

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are back as Miami's top cops for a fourth installment of “Bad Boys,” and Porsche is also on board.

A Porsche 911 will once again serve as Smith and Lawrence's automotive co-star in “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” which premiered last week. This time, itโ€™s a 911 Turbo S from the 992 generation thatโ€™s in the spotlight.

A nod to the original 911 Turbo 3.6

The current Turbo S is a nod to the 911 Turbo 3.6 of the 964 generation from the original 1995 film. This car, which came from director Michael Bay's own collection and was sold for more than 1.4 million dollars at auction in 2022, also makes an appearance in โ€œBad Boys: Ride or Dieโ€.

No Porsche in โ€œBad Boys IIโ€

No Porsches appeared in the 2003 sequel to โ€œBad Boys,โ€ titled โ€œBad Boys II.โ€ The star car in this film was a Ferrari 575M Maranello. But the German brand returned for โ€œBad Boys for Lifeโ€ in 2020, providing a 992-generation 911 Carrera 4S in Gentian Blue.

Chase behind the wheel of a 911 Turbo S

This time, Smith and Lawrence's detective characters are on the run from a criminal conspiracy, but a 992 911 Turbo S is well equipped for it. Its twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-6 develops 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds, run the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds and to reach a top speed of 205 mph, according to Porsche.

New features coming for the 911 Turbo S

The Turbo S is also expected to receive a hybrid powertrain like the one other 911 models receive as part of a mid-term refresh for the 2025 model year. A Turbo S Touring version, lacking the signature enlarged rear spoiler of the Turbo, was also seen being tested. Maybe we'll see one of these cars in a future “Bad Boys” sequel.

Fans of the โ€œBad Boysโ€ franchise and Porsche will be delighted to see this association continue in this explosive new opus. There is no doubt that the 911 Turbo S will play its role perfectly alongside the two stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence for breathtaking action scenes.
