Longines expands its Conquest collection with new sizes and summer colors

The brand now offers downsized three-hand watches with vibrant pastel hues and more sizing options to fit different wrists.

What we know

The Longines Conquest line is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, and to mark this event, the brand has announced the release of several new extensions to the model family. Unveiled earlier this week, a 34mm range with pastel dials has been added, as well as two new sizes of 34mm and 38mm in several color options. These additions reflect Conquest's contemporary identity and the brand's desire to speak to a new audience while building on its heritage roots.

Longines Conquest 34mm

For the latest additions to the Conquest 34mm model launching in spring 2023, the most significant changes are the three new dial options. Now available in bubblegum pink, sky blue and soft green, each model features applied hour markers and a white date window at six o'clock. Super-LumiNova has been applied to the hour and minute hands, as well as the indices at three, nine and twelve o'clock. You have the choice between a stainless steel bracelet or a rubber strap matching the color of the dial.

Longines Conquest 30mm and 38mm

While the Conquest family was largely limited to 41mm and 34mm sizes for its models equipped with mechanical movements, new 30mm and 38mm options are now available. The dial layout and general details differ only in size, which is the main novelty of this release. For the 30mm model, you can choose from silver, mother-of-pearl, green and blue dial colors, with a lug width of 15mm. The 38mm model will be available in silver, green, blue, black or champagne and features a lug width of 19mm. Models in both sizes come with a matching stainless steel bracelet, and there is a rubber strap option for the 38mm size.

Movement and characteristics

Each model is water resistant up to 100 meters and equipped with an automatic mechanical movement manufactured in-house with a silicon spring and anti-magnetic resistance conforming to ISO 764 standards. Here are the technical details:

  • Caliber: Longines caliber L592.5; Longines caliber L888.5; Longines caliber L888.5
  • Functions: Hours, minutes, seconds, date
  • Power reserve: 45 hours; 72 hours; 72 hours

  • What we think

Considering this release as well as the latest update to the brand's Mini Dolce Vita line, Longines is having a good year when it comes to subtle but impactful tweaks to its tried-and-true pieces, aimed at better appealing to its female clientele (or simply those with a smaller and stylish wrist). When I got a preview of these models a few months ago, I felt like my personal taste in watches was on display right under my nose, given the pastel hues and small sizes. I even tried sneaking out with the pink Conquest 34mm on one wrist and the sky blue model on the otherโ€ฆ Just kidding.

What is also notable is the use of automatic mechanical movements, regardless of size; 100 meter water resistance โ€“ although I'm not a diver or even a snorkeler (I have a bit of a fish phobia), I have to admit that I'm not the most careful or graceful of women, so I generally favors a โ€œmore is betterโ€ attitude in this area; and finally, the price, which seems relatively affordable to me given the increasing absurdity of prices in the watch industry in general.

    Price and availability

The price of the 30mm models varies between โ‚ฌ1,950 and โ‚ฌ2,400, the 34mm models are โ‚ฌ1,900 for the rubber strap and โ‚ฌ2,000 for the stainless steel, and the 38mm models cost โ‚ฌ2,750 โ‚ฌ for the rubber strap and โ‚ฌ2,850 for the stainless steel. Available now, these models are not limited edition.
