Currently, Porsche maintains two versions of the Macan on sale, gasoline and electric. Let's see the difference in power that exists between the gasoline-powered Porsche Macan and the electric one.
The petrol-powered Porsche Macan range
Let's start with the range of the petrol Porsche Macan, which consists of three options:
All versions are linked to a seven-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all four wheels.
The new electric generation of the Porsche Macan
For its part, the new generation of the Porsche Macan, which arrived at the end of last year, is only available with an electric propulsion system.
It is slightly larger than its gasoline sister and, for the moment, Porsche markets two versions, both with two engines and all-wheel drive:
With the overboost function, the power can reach 408 and 639 hp respectively.
Both versions are equipped with the same 100 kWh battery (95 kWh net), with a WLTP range of 613 kilometers for the Macan 4 and 591 kilometers for the Macan Turbo.
Performance difference
In terms of pure performance, the petrol Porsche Macan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, while the Macan S does it in 4.8 seconds and the Macan GTS in 4.5 seconds.
For its part, the electric Porsche Macan goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds in the least powerful version, and the Macan Turbo does it in 3.3 seconds.
We therefore see that the most powerful electric version offers significantly better performance than the sportiest petrol Macan, while displaying a very respectable range for an electric SUV. However, the petrol Macan remains an interesting option for those looking for the sensations of a combustion engine and who do not need excessive power.
This cohabitation between the gasoline and electric versions of the Porsche Macan illustrates the German manufacturer's gradual transition towards the electrification of its range, while maintaining a diversified offering to meet the expectations of its customers.
It was an open secret, but the European Commission has confirmed it: the real fuel consumption of cars is 20% higher than official figures
