It might not be a true successor to the OnePlus Watch 2, but it does bring a long-awaited feature: LTE connectivity.
A preview of the next OnePlus smartwatch
A new OnePlus smartwatch with LTE support has been spotted in Chinese regulator TENAA's database. The certification reveals several similarities with the recently launched OnePlus Watch 2.
MySmartPrice has discovered an unreleased smartwatch from OnePlus with model number OPWW234 in a certification filing submitted to Chinese regulator TENAA. The filing includes a render showing a watch looking suspiciously like the OnePlus Watch 2 with a circular dial and two buttons on the right side.
LTE connectivity and other features
Although the upcoming model might not feature any major changes in terms of design, the listing mentions that it will include LTE connectivity via eSIM and support eSIMs from China Unicom, China Telecom, and China Mobile. Like the OnePlus Watch 2, it will also include support for Bluetooth, GPS, BeiDou, NFC, GLONASS and WLAN.
The undisclosed international variant of this watch with model number OPWWE234 appeared on India's Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification site and TUV Rheinland database earlier this month. According to these listings, the model will have other similarities with the OnePlus Watch 2, such as a 500 mAh battery. A 3C certification listing of the Chinese model also highlighted the same 10W charging capacity.
An LTE variant of the OnePlus Watch 2?
Because of these similarities, we speculate that the device could simply be an LTE variant of the OnePlus Watch 2. Add to that the fact that it's only been a few months since the OnePlus Watch 2 was released, it The company is very unlikely to launch a true full successor.
We shouldn't have to wait too long to know for sure, as companies typically submit regulatory filings shortly before launch. OnePlus will likely launch the watch in China and India. We have no indication of a wider global launch.
