Amazfit has just announced the deployment of Zepp OS 4, a major update to its smartwatch operating system. The main new feature is the integration of GPT-4o, the latest multimodal and multilingual artificial intelligence model developed by OpenAI, at the heart of the Flow virtual assistant.
This development promises a more natural and efficient voice interaction with Amazfit smartwatches. The Flow assistant will now be able to respond vocally to the user, initially in English or German. Support for other languages such as French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish is planned at a later date.

A gradual deployment
The rollout of Zepp OS 4 will begin in July 2024. Amazfit has not communicated a precise timetable for the arrival of the various features, in particular concerning the support of additional languages for the Flow voice assistant.
This major update positions Amazfit as an innovative player in the smartwatch market. The integration of GPT-4o could well be a strong argument against the competition, particularly Apple and Samsung.
