Garmin is set to renew its popular Fenix โโrange this summer. The successors to the Fenix โโ7 are being previewed with unexpected names and prices. Discover all the details on these new high-performance smartwatches that are likely to shake up the market.
The Fenix โโ8 and the mysterious Fenix โโE make their appearance
With Garmin having just launched its new Edge 1050, eyes are already turning to the replacement for the Fenix โโ7 series. Leaks from a Finnish retailer reveal the existence of two new ranges: the Fenix โโ8 and the all-new Fenix โโE.
This unofficial information suggests a bold strategy on the part of Garmin. The brand seems ready to shake up its positioning with more high-end models at significantly higher prices.
Rates that make your heart rate rise
The prices revealed by Finnish retailer Multitronic are significantly higher than those of the current Fenix โโ7 range:
It should be noted that these prices include Finnish VAT, which is higher than in other European countries. So we can expect slightly lower rates in the rest of Europe, but they will still be significantly above the current range.
A new strategy for Garmin?
The introduction of the Fenix โโE, positioned as a new entry-level model at around โฌ800, marks a significant change in Garmin's strategy. This watch is still โฌ100 more expensive than the current Fenix โโ7 equivalent.
The Fenix โโ8 range comes in three sizes (43, 47 and 51 mm) with prices starting at around โฌ1000. These prices clearly place these models in the ultra-premium segment of sports smartwatches.
An imminent launch
According to the reseller's information, the first deliveries of these new Fenix โโshould begin at the beginning of September. We can therefore expect an official presentation from Garmin at the end of August.
These leaks raise many questions: what new features will justify such a price increase? Is Garmin looking to position itself even more premium against the competition? Will the Fenix โโE completely replace the current Fenix โโ7?
Smartwatch enthusiasts and athletes are eagerly awaiting official confirmation of this information. One thing is certain: Garmin is about to make a big splash in the high-end smartwatch market.
