the pinnacle of circuit performance

The new 2024 Porsche 911 GT3 RS pushes the boundaries of racetrack performance even further. With its naturally aspirated engine, extreme aerodynamics and cutting-edge technology, it sets the benchmark for road-legal sports cars. A closer look at this exceptional machine designed for purists.

A naturally aspirated engine that screams up to 9000 rpm

The 2024 Porsche 911 GT3 RS retains what makes its DNA: a fabulous 4.0-liter flat-6 engine. This naturally aspirated unit now peaks at 525 hp, 15 hp more than the previous generation. Maximum torque reaches 465 Nm. But it is above all its ability to climb in the towers that impresses, with a rev limiter placed at 9000 rpm.

This exceptional engine is combined with a specially calibrated 7-speed PDK gearbox. The engineers have shortened the gears and optimized the shift times for extreme responsiveness. 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 3.2 seconds and the top speed peaks at 296 km/h. Dizzying figures for a car approved for the road.

Aerodynamics pushed to the extreme

The most striking element of this new GT3 RS is undoubtedly its imposing active rear wing. Inspired by competition, it can be deployed on 3 different levels to optimize downforce or reduce drag. Combined with the numerous aerodynamic elements (front splitter, winglets, diffuser), it generates up to 860 kg of downforce at 285 km/h.

The bodywork has been extensively reworked with widened wheel arches and generous air intakes. The massive use of carbon fiber helps to keep the weight down to 1450 kg despite the addition of equipment. The front hood and roof are notably made from this ultra-light material. Every gram has been tracked to optimize performance.

A chassis with ultra-sporty tuning

The GT3 RS rides on a custom-tuned suspension with stiffer springs and reinforced anti-roll bars compared to the 'regular' GT3. Damping, camber and ride height settings are adjustable to best suit each track.

Braking is via 410mm carbon-ceramic discs at the front gripped by 6-piston monobloc calipers. At the rear, there are 390mm discs and 4-piston calipers. The tyres are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R in 265/35 ZR20 at the front and 325/30 ZR21 at the rear.

A performance-focused interior

The interior of the GT3 RS exudes sportiness with its carbon fibre bucket seats and flat-bottomed sports steering wheel. The digital instrument cluster displays a wealth of specific information such as tyre pressure, G-forces and lap times.

The latest generation PCM multimedia system now includes a Porsche Track Precision application for detailed analysis of its performance on the racetrack. An analogue chronograph is also available as an option on the dashboard.

An exclusivity that comes at a high price

Produced in a limited series, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 2024 is offered from 253,702 euros in France. A high price but ultimately consistent given the performance offered and the ultra-exclusive positioning of this model. The first examples will be delivered to customers in spring 2024.

Despite its price, there is no doubt that the GT3 RS will quickly find buyers among collectors and fans of the brand. It represents the culmination of Porsche's expertise in road-legal sports cars. A real object of desire for fans of thrills on the circuit.

This new 911 GT3 RS perfectly illustrates Porsche's philosophy of constantly pushing the limits of performance, while retaining the DNA that has made the brand successful for over 70 years. A technological tour de force that once again places the Stuttgart firm at the top of its game.
