The best electric vehicles on the market voted for by users in 2024

A recent study reveals the ranking of the most popular electric cars, with some surprises but above all the confirmation of trends already observed in the automobile industry.

BMW iX tops the ranking

Electric vehicles are gradually establishing themselves on the automotive market, with many manufacturers fully banking on this technology in 2024. The aim is to convince customers to take the plunge by guaranteeing them reliability and performance.

According to a report from Consumer Reports, the BMW iX rises to the top of the ranking of the best electric vehicles of 2024, with an impressive score of 84 out of 100. This German SUV is well ahead of its competitors such as the Genesis GV60 (75 points), the Lexus RZ (74 points) and the Audi Q4 e-tron (71 points).

Although the BMW iX is positioned in the premium segment, the study also highlights other more affordable and equally efficient electric models.

The breakthrough of Asian brands

Asian manufacturers, already known for their reliability, are gaining ground in terms of driver satisfaction. Hyundai and Kia, two Korean brands, particularly stand out in this ranking.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 stands out as one of the best electric vehicles with a remarkable score of 83 out of 100. Despite a bold design that may have put off some buyers, the Ioniq 6 has all the assets to succeed.

The report highlights several strengths of this model:

  • A great driving experience
  • Fast DC charging meets expectations
  • A quiet cabin
  • โ€œSmooth and fastโ€ acceleration
  • The only drawbacks noted concern a slightly restricted space at the rear and the centralization of the window controls on the central console.

    Kia: models for all budgets

The Kia Niro Electric scores 71 out of 100, positioning itself as the most attractive option for those looking for an electric vehicle without making a significant investment. It thus comes close to the prestigious Porsche Taycan which obtained 76 points.

In the SUV category, Kia shines again with the EV6, which scores 77 points. The Tesla Model Y is close behind with a score of 72. Other models like the Nissan Ariya and the Ford Mustang Mach-E are a little further behind, both with a score of 70.

The evolution of the electricity market

This ranking reflects the rapid evolution of the electric vehicle market. Traditional manufacturers, particularly in Europe and Asia, are catching up with pioneers such as Tesla. The diversity of available models is increasing, offering consumers a wider choice in terms of price range and vehicle types.

Continuous improvements in range, performance and build quality are helping to build buyer confidence in electric vehicles. Manufacturersโ€™ efforts to develop more efficient and accessible charging infrastructure are also playing a crucial role in the growing adoption of these vehicles.

As technology advances and production costs decrease, we can expect to see even more competitive electric models emerge that are adapted to the diverse needs of consumers. This 2024 ranking is just a glimpse of a booming market, promising exciting innovations for years to come in the field of electric mobility.
