Be both a DJ and a detective in Killer Frequency, an 80s-themed murder mystery on PS5, PS4
How many games cast you as a radio DJ with a call-in show? We wouldn’t bet too much, but Killer Frequency is a better one and makes you a pseudo-spy for good measure. This extraordinary new game from Team 17 is coming to PS5 and PS4 on June 1, 2023, and it has us intrigued.
Playing as Forrest Nash, a radio DJ in 1980s America, you host a late-night show called The Cream. It also happens that a serial killer is on the loose in the area. During the radio show, it comes down to you taking calls from listeners, gathering clues about the killer, and trying to stop your listeners from being killed.
Talking to the caller will give you several conversation options, which can lead to useful clues and information about the killer. When you’re off the phone, you can explore the studio to collect items and solve puzzles as you break through the case. On top of all that, the show must go on — you’ll also need to select and play music tracks, all inspired by the era.
It seems like a really interesting mix of different influences. We’re definitely looking forward to playing it when it comes out this summer, but what do you think? Are you interested in killer frequency? Send your thoughts in the comments section below.
