Bingo time! Resident Evil 4 sales top 3 million in just two days
Not that it should be a huge surprise, but Resident Evil 4 is doing pretty well for itself. The remake is unanimously considered a brilliant reimagining of a classic, but in addition to being a critical success, it quickly became a commercial one as well.
In a short statement, publisher Capcom revealed that the game sold more than 3 million copies in its first two days on the global market. For comparison, Resident Evil Village managed the same milestone in its opening four days, while the Resident Evil 2 remake sold many more in its first week. Resident Evil 3, meanwhile, sold 2 million within five days of launch. The latest entry is running a little ahead of the curve, then.
Capcom also provided an update on the cumulative shipments of the entire series – this figure, correct as of December 31, 2022, currently sits at 135 million units. The publisher calls Resident Evil its “flagship game series,” which is hard to argue with at this point.
