Bloodborne Movie, TV Show may be a thing in the future

A Bloodborne movie, TV series, or anime aren’t out of the realm of possibility, according to PlayStation Studios lead Herman Hulst, who says the company’s investments are more than just game development these days.

Speaking to Reuters about Sony’s recent funding Alden Ring Hulst, producer FromSoftware, said: “First and foremost you should think about collaboration on the game development side, but it’s also not impossible with our PlayStation production efforts that we explore opportunities.” Sony has been making a habit of late of pairing its film and TV efforts with a game release so that new fans have something to play once they’ve consumed the other piece of media; The Last of Us: Part I is a recent example. A remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn Netflix seems set to be another connected to the TV show.

Elsewhere in the article, Hulst says there is “definitely a possibility” for Sony to invest further in the PC, mobile and live services space. The company acquired Nixxes Software to help port PS5, PS4 games to personal computers, and Savage Game Studios was brought on board to bolster Sony’s mobile efforts. Finally, Destiny 2 developer Bungie was bought for $3.6 billion to support first-party studios in the live service space. The two companies will come together to create a “live service center of excellence” when the deal closes.

So far, PlayStation Productions has confirmed that The Last of Us TV show from HBO will arrive next year, and then God of War is being adapted by Amazon while Horizon’s TV rights were claimed by Netflix. We have the Gran Turismo TV show and movies to look forward to, as well as the Ghost of Tsushima live-action movie.
