CHVRCHES ‘would do it in a second’ if Kojima wants to collaborate on Death Stranding 2
Scottish synth-pop band CHVRCHES have indicated that the outfit is ready and willing to collaborate with Hideo Kojima again on Death Stranding 2, and they’re not shy about making their intentions known.
Talking to NMESynth player Martin Doherty commented on working with Kojima again, saying “Nothing is formal yet. We’ve talked. [and] We’ve hinted heavily at each other that we’d both like to collaborate again.” Doherty elaborates, “There’s kind of a dance going on right now. I don’t want to be the most dismissive, saying, ‘Can we please be on the game?’ And [Kojima] does not say But I don’t know”.
Kojima, for his part, is also curious, wanting to do something particularly Kojima-like in the process. On A A recent episode of his Brain Structure podcastIn which the band were featured as guests, he said, “It would be nice if we could do something. I want to do something different, something that no one has done before. Hopefully there will be a song in the game, okay? What if there were eighty? [CHVRCHES] Make 100 songs or something?”
CHVRCHES contributed to the original Death Stranding soundtrack, with their song Death Stranding featured prominently during the game’s marketing push.
