Concrete Genie developer PixelOpus is shutting down
Concrete Genie Team PixelOpus, a first-party developer arm of PlayStation Studios, has created a tweet Saying it’s shutting down. The post read: “Dear friends, our PixelOpus adventure has come to an end. As we look to a new future, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the millions of passionate players who have supported us, and continue our mission of beautiful For creating, imaginative games with heart. We are so grateful!”

In June 2021, PixelOpus was hired on Unreal Engine 5 for a new PS5 game created in collaboration with Sony Pictures Animation. This led to a lot of speculation with fans dreaming of a tie-in title with the project. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Films Now it doesn’t seem like this experience will materialize.
PixelOpus also released Entwined, and was never a particularly large developer in terms of how many employees it had within Sony. Still, Concrete Genie was one of the PS4’s most unique experiences, and its loss will be felt on the PS5.
