Crystal Dynamics confirms that Tomb Raider has no effect after the Embracer reconstruction.



The giant and currently beleaguered Embracer Group announced yesterday a major restructuring involving a round of layoffs, closures and cancellations. Embracer has since tried to clarify things, with interim executive Matthew Karch providing a number of references in the process, such as “we need to exploit Lord of the Rings in a very significant way” e.g. At the tip of the iceberg.

Apparently, this kind of chaos at the top can lead to, or at the very least, perceived chaos for the studio under the Embracer umbrella. Crystal Dynamics has taken to Twitter to address the concerns of players who may be wondering what impact this might have on development titles such as the ambitious next Tomb Raider game:

It’s starting to feel like a long time since we had an amazing Tomb Raider adventure, so we definitely expect the game to be good.
