Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a game of the year on PS5

As we recently reported, Cyberpunk 2077 is enjoying a resurgence on new-gen consoles, with more people playing than ever before. And as CD Projekt RED builds up to the release of the game’s first – and, presumably, final – expansion, it’s been confirmed that it’s planning a Game of the Year bundle for systems like the PS5.

The package was revealed by joint-CEO Adam Kisinski in a report published by Poland’s website stockwatch, where he admitted that the sci-fi RPG will follow in the footsteps of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt by offering a definitive version once all content is available. “It’s the natural order of things,” he said.

Kisinski elaborated: “It was the same with The Witcher, which, after two expansions, was finally released as a Game of the Year Edition and has been on the market ever since. The same can be expected in this case too.

The main story expansion Phantom Liberty will launch sometime next year, and will only be available on new-gen systems like the PS5, after the game’s disastrous performance on older consoles like the PS4. The good news is that Cyberpunk 2077 A very much More fun these days – in fact, we awarded it an 8/10 in our PS5 re-review.
