Update: Bandai Namco has confirmed that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on PS5 will be a free upgrade if you already own the game on PS4.
The publisher has also released an official comparison video, showing the visual upgrades to the PS5 version of Kakarot. You can find it embedded in the tweet below.
Original story: Bandai Namco has announced Dragon Ball Z: Kakrot for PS5. It is going to be a graphically enhanced version of the action RPG, which was released on PS4 in 2020. It has a lot of environmental detail — a noticeable degree, going by the publisher Tokyo Game Show presentation — and it looks like it will run at 60 frames-per-second (the PS4 original is capped at 30).
The PS5 version of Kakarot is scheduled for 2023, and will launch with a second season of DLC. Three story-based expansions are planned, including one that follows Bardock’s story as he looks to save his home from the mad Frieza. It looks great in the trailer below.
