A new premium weapon and armor set has been released for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and it has some fans wondering if it’s a very early nod to the recently announced Assassin’s Creed Red.
Ubisoft doesn’t usually make a point of parading these DLC packs on its social media accounts, but it did post about the so-called Yurei Bushido Pack earlier today. It also writes that the weapons and armor “once belonged to a famous oriental warrior”.
Given that Valhalla’s premium cosmetics are from all kinds of historical periods and fantastical realms, the timelines don’t necessarily mean this new pack is related to Assassin’s Creed Red, which takes place in feudal Japan.
As such, could this give us an idea of what to expect from Red’s artistic approach to character devices? After all, Red is going to be an open world RPG in the same vein as Valhalla, and the latter has been such a success that we can’t see Ubisoft straying. Also Far from its blueprint.
It’s also worth noting that ‘yurei’ actually means ‘ghost’ in Japanese – some kind of lingering feeling. In that sense, it all sounds pretty murderous-y, especially when you add ‘bushido’ – the generic term for the moral codes that samurai tried to follow.
