Elden Ring’s FromSoftware wants to release new and exciting games more often
Undoubtedly the story of the day, developer FromSoftware has revealed its intention to release exciting new games more often. Now it looks like we can all get behind!
The Japanese studio, known for the complexity and depth of the world, is currently working on several projects. Armored Corps VI: On August 25th, Rubicon Fire is starting sooner than any of us expected, and Erdtree’s Alden Ring expansion Shadow seems to be coming along nicely as well. So it’s somewhat surprising to hear that the developer has plans to take things up a notch, but given the mainstream success of Alden Ring, perhaps it was inevitable.
in one Interview with EurogamerArmored Corps VI producer Yasuhiro Kitao commented on the studio’s philosophy of having multiple pots on the stove, explaining: “This is an area we feel we’ve always strived to achieve: always creating something new. , always creating something original, something that we as players find interesting and fun. So in that sense, really, nothing has changed. We develop many titles at the same time; we have different projects. There are several teams working on it. We hope our releases surprise and bring something new and exciting. Such long intervals are not going forward.”
FromSoftware has certainly shown that they can be versatile, with only Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring being so diverse in setting, tone, and mechanics but united by the same guiding mechanics that made a A whole cottage industry of imitators. Let’s hope they don’t bite off more than they can chew.
What do you think, would you like to see more and more diverse games out of FromSoftware, or is there a mystery to them? Take your time, and don’t rush into the comments section below.
