Fans have started debating which PlayStation franchise could get an anime
Sony has already confirmed that it has some animated projects in the pipeline as part of it PS Productions Division, and now a rumor from an assumed Trusted anime aggregator account Fans are left wondering which franchise could be replaced. Earlier today, a relatively popular Twitter account who reportedly teased unannounced anime before posting a GIF of PS Studios’ Ident, and later clarified that a “PlayStation game” was being adapted.
This has led to all sorts of speculation about which brand will benefit best from the treatment. Obviously, the likes of Gravity Rush – which did Get a short anime already – tops the list, but Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank, and Astro’s Playroom are other popular suggestions. Given that Sony owns Crunchyroll, it’s probably safe to assume that whatever it will be will be distributed through its own platform. The anime streaming service is no stranger to adapting video game franchises, having previously adapted the Shenmue game — though, like the game series it’s based on, it wasn’t renewed for a second season.
