First Contact Entertainment has announced that it is producing a sequel PSVR Game Firewall Zero Hour. Called Firewall Ultra, it is being made specifically for this PSVR2 And will take advantage of every feature of the headset. A quick teaser trailer can be seen above, showing a small glimpse of the gameplay.
Running at 4K resolution and using HDR, it will have a 110-degree FOV, eye tracking, finger touch detection, foveated rendering, shorter load times, and support for adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. On the PlayStation Blog, it has been confirmed that the sequel will run on dedicated servers and will also feature a separate PvE experience.
Many of the maps from the first game will return, but have been touched up with new areas and textures. “There will also be new locations and contractors, but it wouldn’t be a Firewall game without weapons and equipment, which also feature a very deep level of customization,” said community manager Frank Marm. Firewall Ultra will be supported post-launch with new characters, maps, and weapons. Firewall Zero Hour was supported for an impressive 10 seasons, so the team clearly knows what it’s doing in the live service department.
“Finally, we’d like to thank all of our amazing community members. From meetups to international tournaments, the community for Firewall Zero Hour exceeded all of our expectations,” Marm signed off. “For many people, Firewall Zero Hour is more than just a game. It’s a virtual family gathering, it’s a place to make new friends, or it’s an escape to another world from the comfort of their own living room. “
