Forspoken PS5 update improves performance, tweaks gameplay options, more
A new game update for the PS5 console exclusive Forspoken is now available for download. Taking RPG to version 1.10, it does more than fix a few bugs – it’s a huge patch that introduces some much-requested fixes and improved performance.
Many of the major bullet points are outlined This blog post, but we’ll see them here as well. First of all, there are a number of new options that will help streamline the gameplay experience:
- ‘Remember last visited menu section’ is an option that you can now turn on or off. When turned off, the menu will always default to the map you were last viewing instead of taking you back to it.
- ‘Focus on target’ can also be turned on or off. When off, pressing R3 while charging an attack will lock onto an enemy, rather than simply flipping the camera to point at the enemy.
- ‘Lock On to Nearby Enemies’ is a setting that allows you to keep the lock-on active after defeating an enemy. When enabled, this option will make it so that the lock-on grabs another enemy when you defeat the current one, instead of just turning off the lock-on.
- ‘Immunity to Own Magic’ is a highly requested feature. When toggled, Frey will not take damage or be stunned by her own magic.
In addition to these quality-of-life improvements, the patch adds some tweaks to the game’s visuals. With the patch installed, you’ll be prompted to manually adjust the brightness, contrast, and HDR of your image. Also, some changes have been made to lighting and ambient occlusion to improve the overall look.
Finally, further optimization is implemented, which translates into better performance. You should see a smooth frame rate with the new update.
