Genshin Impact Dev’s TurnBased RPG Honkai: Star Rail Confirmed For PS5, PS4
Genshin Impact developer miHoYo’s fantastic upcoming turnbased space fantasy RPG Honkai: Star Rail will release on PS5 and PS4 in the future. Dated earlier today for iOS and Android – it will launch on April 26 – the free-to-play Gatcha is currently in development for PlayStation, and will be coming “soon” according to the Chinese team.
We were lucky enough to test the beta earlier in the year, and it’s a great change of pace from Genshin Impact, with its emphasis still on team-building – albeit a more traditional turn-based battle. within the limits of the system. While the story is unnecessarily wordy, the art direction is excellent – and you can expect it to look incredible on PS5, especially if the Genshin effect is anything to go by.
writing on PS blog, lead programmer Yang Yu revealed: “Honkai: Star Train offers a vast universe full of unique cultures, landscapes and scenes. It is full of prizes and secrets waiting to be discovered. Traversing worlds and uncovering mysteries, Honkai: Star Train offers an epic space journey full of twists, coincidences and hilarity. Build your four-person battle team from a wide range of playable characters, team up with your teammates, and leverage their unique skills to overcome challenges from every corner of the universe.
As mentioned above, there is no release date yet for the PlayStation versions, but miHoYo says the game will be available on Sony’s systems in the “near future.” Meanwhile, we imagine cross-progression from mobile will be supported, so you’ll probably be safe to start on your smartphone when the title launches next month.
