Ghostbusters VR is officially called Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, out next year for PSVR2.
After announcing A PSVR2 adaptation of ghostly As the series continues, Sony Pictures has given the game the official title: Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord. The name was confirmed in A Kinda funny livestream, where studio nDreams also revealed that it will be out for Sony’s next-generation VR headset sometime next year. The device itself is set to launch in early 2023.
In an interview with Greg Miller, game director Nathan Beasley stated that the game would be authentic to the film series, telling a new story in a new city. It will feature multiplayer, and the equipment used by the crew will be connected to the possibilities of VR. He then adds: “We think this is the closest experience to being Ghostbusters. You know, when you combine the teleportation of VR with multiplayer, I think it gets us as close as possible. As much as we’re going to get for being Ghostbusters.” With the campaign set in San Francisco, you’ll be able to play the game by yourself or with up to three other friends.
Official details are still light on the ground, but with Sony planning to put out a PSVR2 headset early next year, more could be around the corner. Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord Horizon joins the likes of Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 4, and Firewall Ultra PSVR2 games confirmed.
