Honkai: Star Train playable on PS5 for the first time at Gamescom
Chinese juggernaut HoYoverse is bringing all its biggest games – sorry, Tears of Themis – to gamescom Next month, including a fully playable PS5 build of turnbased RPG Honkai: Star Rail. The spacefaring smash hit is due out on Sony’s system later this year, but this is the first time it will be publicly playable on the PlayStation console.
The firm’s massive floor booth won’t end there, though: it’s also bringing the Genshin effect, where we believe it will tease the anticipated new area, Fontaine. The press release alone promises “stage shows, musical performances, contests, and all kinds of fun activities.” That’s when you’re making more profit than PlayStation!
Long awaited Zenless Zone Zero will also be in attendance, and hopefully we’re getting closer to a release date for that. The title has been in beta for what feels like forever now, and while there’s been no official confirmation of a PlayStation port, we’d be surprised if it doesn’t eventually target Sony’s system.
Then, for the smartphone gamers among you, the developer is coming of age The Honkai Effect 3 will also have its moments in the spotlight, as a new “energizing sun-kissed theme” has been revealed. Gamescom will, of course, take place between August 23rd and August 27th this year – although, unfortunately, Sony itself won’t be attending.
