The PS5 absolutely blew up in Japan this year, surpassing the three million units milestone, and aligning the PS4 and PS3 launches. An influx of stock availability has propelled the console to phenomenal numbers domestically, but things are now starting to level off much more slowly. Case in point: This week the system sold 64,869 units — still impressive, but a little lighter than earlier in the year.
Of course, Sony will be looking to launch Resident Evil 4 later this month to help boost things. This week, software sales weren’t particularly impressive, but a trio of PlayStation titles made the top ten, with Hogwarts Legacy and Vo Long: Fallen Dynasty sticking around. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse was one of two new launches, shifting 9,031 physical copies on PS4. Latest data as provided by Famitsuis below
