Multiverse is now removed from PS5, PS4 stores
Multiverse will no longer be available for download for new players and has been temporarily removed from digital storefronts such as the PlayStation Store. The move may come as a surprise to those just following along with the house, given that it was an extended expansion last week. Open the beta update.
We knew the free-to-play title would be going offline in June, something that caused some consternation among early adopters and the title’s most dedicated fans. Hardcore, of course, would have installed the game for months, but this is an unusual situation, all things considered.
Online play will still be available for players with an existing game installed until the scheduled date of June 25, but the whole situation looks like a nightmare for the developer, Player First Games, to navigate. It remains to be seen if players will be eager to return after all this time, with 1.0 expected to launch in early 2024.
What do you think of the whole multiverse situation? Are you still a true believer, or has this train already left the station? Unleash a whole can of worms in the comments section below.
