Sony has disclosed Top downloaded PS5 and PS4 games from the PS Store for the whole of 2022. We won’t lie to you — the resulting charts are as predictable as you’d expect, with most of the year’s heavy hitters appearing near the top. Let’s take a look anyway, shall we?

Therefore, the most downloaded PS5 games of 2022 were Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in North America, and FIFA 23 in Europe. Surprise! If you’re wondering where God of War’s Ragnarok is, never fear; The game ranked second and third on PS5’s NA and EU charts respectively. Also in the running for a spot in the PS5 top 10 are Alden Ring (fourth in both regions), Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, and Grand Theft Auto.

On PS4, things are about the same, though Sony exclusives are way down the chart. At number one below Modern Warfare 2 and FIFA 23 is yes, GTA 5, with other popular titles such as Minecraft and Red Dead Redemption 2 charting above other recent games. This suggests that, even though many of Sony’s first-party games are cross-gen, most are picking them up on the PS5.

As for the most downloaded PSVR games of 2022, it’s again not much of a surprise. Beat Saber, Job Simulator, and Superhot VR are the top three in both areas. Among free-to-play titles on PS5 and PS4, Fall Guys is a joint leader with the likes of Fortnite, Warzone 2.0, Multiverse, and Overwatch 2.
