November 2022 NPD: Improved PS5 stock pushes Sony to key holiday win
Stock of PS5 The resurgence continues, as Sony dominates the USA hardware sales chart for the fourth month in a row – this time in the crucial November shopping period. PlayStation’s new-gen system outperformed its competition in both units and dollars, giving it a comfortable lead overall. This success contributed to a 43 percent year-over-year increase in hardware sales, helping the industry reach $6.3 billion in revenue for the period from October 30 to November 26.
Unsurprisingly, Unstoppable Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 completely dominated the field, becoming the best-selling game of 2022. Followed by God of War Ragnarok, a record breaker for PS Studios, Sonic Frontiers finished in a very respectable fourth place – behind the latest. pokemon, of course, which is ranked here without its digital sales. Another thing worth noting on the software sales front is that Tactics Ogre: Reborn sneaked inside the top 20 – an impressive achievement for the legendary Square Enix strategy game.
