PlayStation developers FirePrite have moved to a new studio, and it looks expensive
It turns out you’re not allowed to be a part of PlayStation Studios unless you have a really nice office space. The latest member of Sony’s first-party group to delve into some cool new inventions is FirePrite, PlayStation’s biggest UK-based team. We can see a brand new studio in one Update on its websiteAnd it looks very sharp.
The new space is inside an old Liverpudlian building that used to be a “library, maritime business, museum, and newsroom” before becoming a super modern games studio. As well as decorating and furnishing the studio to suit the needs and tastes of the team, some original details have been kept, such as pillars and exposed walls.
There are large open areas designed to accommodate office and home workers. Additionally, the studio has spaces for recreation, quiet focus, training and more. In an effort to be as inclusive as possible, it also has gender-neutral bathrooms, parent nursing areas, a prayer room, and neurodivergent spaces.
Firesprite also points to its aim to be “climate positive”. Along with planting 50,000 trees and partnering with Whale and Dolphin Conservation, the studio will recycle 100 percent of its waste, feature low-energy lighting that only activates when someone is around, and purify the air. For completely peppering plant life.
All in all, it looks great – but where’s our invitation, FirePrite? We’ll come and play pool with you anytime.
