Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 grossed nearly $1 billion in its opening weekend on the market, setting a new record for the FPS series. So, it was going to claim only one place in the monthly PS Store Sales chart: 1st place. The latest shooter from Infinity Ward was the best-selling PS5 game in both the US and Europe. It can almost say the same on PS4; FIFA 23 just beat it for the month of October in Europe.
Modern Warfare 2 will likely stay in the top 20 best-selling digital games list on the PS Store for some time, just like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Vanguard before it. And with rumors that there won’t be a new Call of Duty title next year as Infinity Ward churns out post-launch content for another year, it could be the main Activision product for a while.
Other new releases last month included Gotham Knights, which was the second best-selling PS5 game in the USA and third in Europe. A Plague Tale: Requiem was the seventh best-selling digital PS5 title in Europe, but only tenth in the US. Star Ocean: Divine Force also USA. comes at 13th place in
Overwatch 2 also launched last month, and it topped the free-to-play list in the USA and Europe, beating Fortnite and The Sims 4 as it reduced its price tag.
