Sony promised it would ship a healthy supply of PS5 consoles to Japan this holiday, and it hasn’t disappointed. The console still can’t catch up to the runaway freight train that is the Nintendo Switch, but it’s doing pretty well right now, selling another 68,819 units in the week spanning December 19th through December 25th.

Software sales remain a sticky point for the system, with Nintendo’s evergreens once again completely dominating the top ten. It will be hoped that the likes of Forspoken, Resident Evil 4, and Final Fantasy 16 can help disrupt its rival’s dominance in 2023. Still, the good news is that the hardware is finally starting to move forward, after two years of supply. issues
