PS5’s market share is expanding significantly into Xbox’s backyard
There was a theory that, due to different stock shortages, Sony and Microsoft were neck and neck in the all-important battleground of the United States. Not really, and the PS5 is actually outselling the Xbox Series X|S by a greater proportion than the PS4 compared to the Xbox One at the same point last generation. And this is something that Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki has hinted at in the meantime Manufacturer’s latest financial report.
“PS5 share, relative to peers, in Europe, our position is higher than in the United States,” he said, perhaps not surprisingly given that Sony dominates in Europe. “Even in the United States, the gap narrowed somewhat over the summer, but our share has increased significantly recently.” This, of course, has to do with the high availability of PS5 hardware.
