Like its predecessor, God of War Ragnarok is full of boss fights, some of which are optional. In fact, the hardest boss in the entire game is an optional battle, which you won’t get until after completing the main story. We’ll talk a little bit about that boss in this story, so if you’ve yet to finish the game, Beware of spoilers below.
Ragnarok doesn’t have many encounters with the infamous Valkyries, but it makes up for it with a very tough, post-game battle with the Valkyrie Queen, Jaina. She has a huge range of moves, moves very quickly, and her attacks really hurt. This is a great final test, and one that took us quite a few tries before we finally got it down.
However, it turns out that he can be defeated very easily with the right build. A member of the game’s subreddit posted the following clip of himself completely washing down one of the game’s toughest bosses:
In less than 30 seconds, Gna is defeated, and on the hardest difficulty. how Well, the user reaction Shows their build in the same clip, but explains in better detail in the post’s comments. “The build is built around maximum friction damage [Leviathan Axe] Combo finisher,” he says [Seidr Exhale] Summon debuffs, you buff yourself with [Talisman of Meign] relic & awaken weapon (L1+Triangle) then spam any combo that ends with the finisher.”
The strategy is clearly very strong. The combination of debuffing the enemy with poison and buffing Kratos’ strength makes perfect sense in hindsight! If you are looking for more help or advice for this game, be sure to check out our detailed God of War Ragnarok Guide.
