Ronin leaks suggest Q1 2024 launch on PS5, more details

Details and screenshots for the PS5 console exclusive Rise of the Ronin have leaked via a Discord server run by former insider The Snitch. We will not host images here, however Click to see them. They look like icons for a glance on the map, a quest description, and a skill tree. Team Ninja’s gameplay is then described as a mix of Assassin’s Creed, Ghost of Tsushima, and Dark Souls.

It has since been claimed that the item descriptions are linked to lore promoting the wider world (ala every Firm Software title from Demon’s Souls), but the design of the side quests is very much like the Ubisoft formula. You’ll be able to choose between different difficulty options, have skill and technique trees, and you’ll be able to choose between quality and performance modes to fine tune the experience. Romance options will also be a thing, and the game is planned for release in Q1 of next year.

If the title is indeed aiming for an early 2024 launch, there’s a good chance we’ll see more of it this year — perhaps in a State of play Livestream or any other PlayStation Showcase. Ronin’s Rise was always supposed to come out next year, but this leak suggests it will be in the first few months. For now, we know the game is an open world action RPG from the team behind Nioh and Vo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
