We’re hours away from Sony’s next State of Play broadcast at the time of writing this article and we don’t necessarily want to rain on the parade, but there are rumors that the show may not be a blockbuster event. Pinned for many.
Sony himself perhaps pointed out that it will not be the biggest state of play that has been hosted. When it announced the event last night, the company framed it as an introduction to Tokyo Game Show 2022, which starts later in the week. The suggestion is that this will not be a place for megaton announcements, but rather updates on existing (mainly Japanese) titles.
And now, we have a super reliable industry leaker snitch Telling People that the show will include “a lot of short games.” As such, we would advise keeping your expectations high for this one. There is no saying that will not Any would be a nice surprise, but again, it’s probably best to keep your cool and not expect mind-melting blockbusters like God of War Ragnarok, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Marvel’s Wolverine.
Having said all that, what do you want to see from tonight’s State of Play? Dream big, but no Also Big in the comments section below.
