A plethora of footage claiming to be Grand Theft Auto VI’s early, work-in-progress clips have been put online overnight. About 90 videos were linked on GTA Forums By a poster named teapotuberhacker, and the videos seem pretty much real. With the game still so far along, it’s important to remember that the footage provides examples of something early in development. Robbing a diner, the player is given a set amount of time before the police arrive to steal money from the cash register and take hostages. Once the police arrive, a female character and male accomplice steal one of their cars and are told to get lost in order to complete the objective.
Of course, there’s still the possibility that it’s all fake, but the internet has never seen a leak this absurdly large and detailed before. 90 videos of a game still being made is unprecedented, especially for such a big, upcoming title. We’re pretty sure this is the real deal.

Those looking at the footage say they’ve seen references to GTA: Vice City, supporting rumors from earlier this year claiming GTA 6 would be set in Miami. The leak also confirms suggestions that a female character will appear alongside other playable characters in a story influenced by bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.
