Rumors about PS5 exclusives Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Castlevania send the web potty
Speculation on social media this weekend suggests that Sony may have signed exclusivity deals with Konami on several titles including Castlevania, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill. We don’t have to guess about the latter, as a remake of the popular PS2 survival horror Silent Hill 2 was announced by the Blubber team last year, and it will be exclusive to PS5 and PC for a year.
Rumors of some sort of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater revival have been swirling for years, and Podcast host Nick Baker revived them This weekend, after claiming that the classic could re-emerge in the near future PS Showcase The PS5 is bundled with some form of feature. As is customary for Internet insiders, Baker changed the comments, citing his source as uncertain — and it’s worth noting that he was confident of an infamous return nearly two years ago, before developer Scar Punch Turned those stories off.
however, Windows Central Editor Jez Corden was quick to jump on the speculation, saying he had “heard something similar” about the Metal Gear Solid exclusivity. In a follow-up tweet, he added: “Just heard that Sony has a deal with Konami for Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and maybe a new Castlevania.” Everything seems uncertain, doesn’t it?
Sony’s mantra is to close franchises with historic PlayStation associations this generation, such as Final Fantasy, so it doesn’t seem like that. huge Drag – At the very least, we hope the Japanese giant has secured the marketing rights. But this project is assuming as a matter of fact exists in the first place, and the speculation here does not seem strong enough to say anything With absolute certainty.
Arguably the bigger story here, if true, isn’t necessarily a PS5 feature, but that Konami might be interested in making games again. Summer announcement season is upon us, so let’s wait and see what the next few months bring, shall we?
