Scissorman returns to PS5, PS4 in an expanded clock tower
WayForward has announced that it is bringing an upgraded version of the survival horror classic Clock Tower to the PS5 in early 2024. It’s still the original Japanese SNES version — it’s not a remaster or remake — but it will pack updated animations and cutscenes, a bonus art gallery, and save states. Watch the announcement trailer above, officially translated and released in the USA and Europe for the first time.
A digital version will be available at PS Store, and then a physical version will follow later courtesy of the limited run games. More details, including pre-order windows, will be shared soon.
As for Wayford’s improvements to Clock Tower, the official PR reads: “Using the power of the limited run games’ Carbon Engine, this new version of Clock Tower retains the authentic gameplay, graphics and sound of the original version. Contains. Modern features and improvements. These include a new vocal theme song performed by Mary McGlynn (Silent Hill series), a new animated opening, motion-comic cutscenes before and after the game, a bonus art gallery, border artwork , save status, multiple language included. options, and more.”
