SEGA Survey suggests Persona 3 Reload retails for $69.99

Perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised at this point (considering how many times we’ve bought various iterations of Persona games before), but Persona 3 Reload looks like it will retail for $69.99. This is despite being based on the early PS2 version of the game, which may not include features that current fans may remember from later (and more popular) iterations like FES or the portable. While Reload is clearly going to be an incredible game in its own right, the price tag stings, and for a few reasons.

Word comes to us via a since-deleted tweet, which has been met Safe on Resetera. There, we see a snippet from a recent survey sent out by parent SEGA, and it looks like they’ve dropped the price tag. SEGA has yet to confirm or deny anything either way, but considering the company all but promised it would jack up prices, again, we shouldn’t be surprised. To be completely fair to SEGA, all the cool companies are raising their prices, and it can be hard to feel like an outsider.

Admittedly, there’s an element of cross-console envy to all of this that needs to be addressed: Persona 3 Reload will be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass when it launches next year. We’d be much more curious about the reload package (rather than distracting from what it isn’t) if the PlayStation Plus were to offer the same, but it looks like that particular ship has sailed. Maybe get it on Game Pass?
