Skull and Bones, the long-in-development marine destruction simulator from Ubisoft, has suffered another setback, with reports that the PS Store has automatically returned some customers’ pre-orders. Furthermore, as of the time of this writing, Pre-orders on the PS Store have been disabled for the titleWith potential pirates only available for the title wish-list and no share of their hard-earned loot.
As reported by PlayStation lifestyleUser on Reddit And Twitter noted that their pre-orders had been refunded, but curiously, without an explanation email. In both cases, it was the deluxe edition of the game that was returned. It’s been theorized that Skull and Bones’ recent delay could be the cause of the issue, with the title’s now-obscure 2023 release window starting something on the back end.
Ubisoft hasn’t commented directly yet (outside of a typical customer service response), but we expect they can get things ship-sized in the short term. We got to see a significant amount of gameplay recently, which looks to be a good amount of swashbuckling fun.
