Sony calls in a technical supply drop of Helldivers 2 PS5, PC co-op and combat details
Outside of the highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the upcoming Helldivers sequel is one of Sony’s few PS5 consoles on the horizon. And today Community Manager Catherine Baskin has ordered a tech supply drop on PS blogDigging into some more co-op and combat focused details related to the 2023 release.
Baskin explains: “Building your loadout is part of mission preparation; Changing not only your weapon to satisfy your appetite for destruction, but also the missions and enemy types you can face. Your biggest support tactics as a Helldiver are: powerful tools that can be summoned with small button combinations. Everything from air strikes to helppods to big, bad weapons to defensive gear and extra supplies are at your fingertips.
Developer Arrowhead is emphasizing cooperation, so the strategies you choose will need to be carefully coordinated to complement each other and ensure success in the field. “While one helldiver is handling heavy fire, another helldiver can call up a shield generator to protect teammates as the enemy pushes back,” says Baskin. “In a four-person team, you’ll be able to choose a mix of tactics and weapons that will lead to a unique victory every time.”
It seems the developer wants you to find your own personal playstyle, whether it’s an all-out guns blazing approach or a more reserved sniping from a distance strategy. Regardless of strategy, you’ll need to back your team up at all times: “Using a reinforcement strategy is your team’s priority. [when a teammate dies] To summon your brand new Helldiver to the planet, to pick up right where you left off. You can also grab the gun your previous corpse left behind.
It is becoming a very condensed version of the original, which is a very much Popular game on PS4, PS3, and Also PS Vita. The sequel has been a long time coming, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to deliver – and then some!
