Sony won’t abandon the PS4, and it’s considering content for the last-gen console on a case-by-case basis. Outside of the upcoming God of War Ragnarok – which will be released on both PS5 and PS4 – the developer has been unusually secretive about its upcoming slate of first-party projects. We know that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine are in development for the PS5, but other than that, your guess is as good as ours. (Well, unless you read the recently leaked documents, we guess.)

However, Herman Hulst – who is the head of PlayStation Studios – is not ruling out more PS4 versions of the game in 2023 and beyond. “We certainly don’t want to forget the millions of active players on PS4, and we want to make sure there are great games for them as well,” he told the newsletter. Axios. “We’re evaluating it on a case-by-case basis.”

Group president Jim Ryan ruffled feathers a few years ago by announcing that his company “believes in generations” — only for the vast majority of the PS5’s first-party lineup to launch on PS4 as well. While his comments were taken somewhat out of context – and the Japanese giant has released several PS5-only experiences, such as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart – this latest statement proved to be a bitter pill to swallow for some fans. Maybe, because they believe that is going on. PS4 development is killing the potential of its latest console.

It will be interesting to see which Games continue to release on PS4 as we head into 2023, but we believe Sony will really need it. announcement A few new projects before we can even start speculating.
