Spider-Man 2 map ‘roughly doubles in size’, adds Queens and Brooklyn
Insomniac Games has revealed the map for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which will be “nearly twice” the size of the one in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, with new districts like Queens and Brooklyn on PS5. are included in the sequel. Additionally, the studio has teased new activities to complete in the open world such as “battles using a river running between neighborhoods”.
From a new interview with FamitsuCreative director Brian Intihar explained: “We’ve added Queens and Brooklyn to the map, which makes it almost twice the size of our previous work. Both of these neighborhoods are a little smaller and more residential, so they have a different look than Manhattan. There’s charm. We’ve created some unexpected situations that we’ve never seen before, like battles using a river that runs between neighborhoods, so please look forward to those.”
With both Peter Parker and Miles Morales being playable with a set of abilities that allow them to traverse the open world very quickly, it makes sense to expand the play space to accommodate those skills. However, it sounds like you’ll want to put the web-slinging aside for a while to explore Queens and Brooklyn on foot to soak up their unique atmosphere. It will also allow you to switch between Peter and Miles at any time, possibly introducing different dialogue and reactions to what they see.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be released on PS5 later this year. Will you take the time to fully explore its detailed map? Let us know in the comments below.
