Bandai Namco will release Tales of Symphonia Remastered for PS4 on February 17, 2023, the publisher has confirmed in a new trailer. The footage is viewable above, featuring battle clips, cutscenes, and general gameplay. The JRPG was first launched on the Nintendo GameCube in 2003 for its first remaster before being ported to the PS2 (Japan only) and then the PS3 in 2014.
Despite this being the company’s second stab at a Tales of Symphonia remaster, it still looks like the PS4 release will run at 1080p resolution at 30 frames-per-second. To date, the only version of the classic JRPG to run at 60fps is the initial Gamecube release.
Still, it’s another title to add to the ever-growing list of games releasing in the first few months of 2023. It will see competition from PS4 ports of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden, as well as bigger releases like Hogwarts. Like Legacy and Dragon: Isshin! Of course, not all of these games will share the same target audience, but you won’t be starving for something to play as we enter next year.
